Kia ora,
I grew up living between the UK and the Middle East before settling in Aotearoa. Being exposed to so many diverse cultures and absorbing all the knowledge I could has been an integral part of forming who I am today.
I have had the privilege of living in Aotearoa for 10 years now, I’ve gone to school, university, and gotten married in this beautiful country.
Community work has always been a part of my life, whether it was helping at the Sunday school tuckshop or planning national conferences for all the Muslim Student Associations.
I feel very blessed to be working alongside a team and organisation that cares so much about the wellbeing of all members of the Ōtautahi community.
Sending peace,
Mariam Qureshi.
